a little bit of french
I knew some french, but after our trip to France, I learned a lot of new words! Here are some french words I know:

The Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triumph
Today we went up the Eiffel Tower. It was awesome! We went to the top. The view streched out to all of Paris! Up top there was a screen that showed which direction the citys were in different countries, including the U.S. It was very far away. We bought little Eiffel Tower models and we thought we could make models of a section of Paris. We also went to the Arc de Triumph on Champs-Elysees, the most famous avenue in the world! It was WAY older than the Eiffel Tower. It was cool and I mean COOL! It was surrounded by a round-about, which is where you go into a big circle in the road and you keep going until you find where you want to go. Actually, that was a week ago.
Something funny.
The "YOU ARE IN FRANCE" momment
We were coming out of the airport and we ran into a tollbooth. Dad says "Parlez vous anglais?" (Do you speak english?) The tollbooth guy groans, dad says "Okay so I've got american express, and american $. The guy's like, "american $? YOU ARE IN FRANCE!!!"
Please rank this "Something funny." in your comment

The mètro

This is the mètro station. We use it instead of driving because we had to return the car. Inside the mètro train, is fold-down seats, and poles, and there were different lines like the green line #9 or the blue line #2 to help you decide where you're going.

Something funny
the "are you from Brazil?" momment
We were at a park sailing boats we rented, and this kid walks up to me and says "You have a pirate ship too?" and then leaves. We bump into each other and I say "Where're you from, kid?" and he says "I was born in England." and I say "I'm from America." and he says "America? Are you from Brazil?" and I say "Are you kidding?"

le Tour de France
One of the many reasons we went to France is to watch le Tour de France. Le Tour de France is a cycling race that is really long, so they have to do it in stages, like one day they begin racing in Switzerland, believe it or not, and then they go again in another Swiss city, and then they actually start racing in France, and then on the last day, they end up in Paris! The one in Paris
involves going down the Champs-Elysees, like below. You can see the arc de triumph, or whatever it's called, and you can see the Eiffel Tower from where I was standing!

The Alps

These are the alps. We did all sorts of things here, like cycling, going to the bakery, stuff like that.
Dad did a lot of cycling. He climbed a huge mountain, that reached CLOUDS! And guess what, he got from bottom, to top. I even filled my pockets with euros and went to the bakery all by myself. I said "Bonjour madame. Je veux drey deux baguettes sil vous plait." (Hello miss. I would like two baguettes please). I got two baguettes for €2.00 (€=euro) did you know one euro is worth like a buck sixty? It's true. In France, instead of having the currency symbol at the beginning, it's at the end. (e.g. 1.00$, 1.00€, 1.00£, 1.00¥ [¥=Japanese Yen, and £=British Pound.]). Oops, I was so busy talking about money, looks like we are at the end of this post.

the Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo
Adapted by Robin Moore
This whole post is about this book I read. It's about a hunchback named Quasimodo, who was abandoned at the steps of the Notre Dame cathedral. I like the part when Quasimodo gets crowned king of fools, because it was cool, and people liked him. A sad part is at the very end when all the main characters die. Quasimodo was a nice person, ugly, or not. About the inside story, he is horribly deformed. Wonder this. Will Quasimodo get used to life outside the bell tower? Will he not get his butt whipped too many times? (Apparantly yes since I just told you so.) The gargoyle at its perch was his only real friend, and of course, he is the one telling the story. We are going to be at Notre Dame, which is located in Paris, France. Trust me. This will be the best trip
